Winter tours
We are now offering winter tours out of our Fairbanks kennel October through Early April. This will offer a unique, personal experience, best suited for solo travelers, couples or small families.

This experience will provide a visit to our Iditarod kennel, watching us hook up our team and go out for a ride in the sled with one of us as your guide, driving on the back. The sled can comfortably sit two guests (weight limit is 400 lbs) and is great for people of all ages and abilities, excluding young babies, just given the long exposure to cold. There is a small amount of walking up and down a hill from our driveway so there is no wheelchair access.
We will adventure down the trails surrounding our home for about six miles, climbing up and down hills, stopping for photos and to pet the dogs, answering any of your questions about mushing, training and racing along the way. We then return home to the kennel where we will visit dogs, get more photos and put the dogs back to their houses.
Total tour duration is about one hour and a half. There are two tour times: 11:30 am – 1 pm & 2 – 3:30 pm. Tours will be offered most days, capacity some days is only 2 people, and others can accommodate 4.
Cost: $250/Adult
$220/Child (under 11)
Snow conditions disclaimer: If it is the fall and we do not have enough snow for sleds yet, we can still do a tour on our side-by-side ATV that seats 5 people. Please see our summer tour page for photos and information.
Fall tour Cost: $200/Adult
$175/Child (under 11)
Cancelation policy: tours canceled less than 48 hours from tour time will receive a 0% refund if you are unable to reschedule, and this includes getting stuck or lost to the point of missing your tour entirely. Tours canceled more than 48 hours prior, but less than 7 days will receive a 50% refund. Tours canceled over a week in advanced will be fully refunded.
Guests must provide their own gear. We can provide some extras if necessary, but we rely on our guests to come properly dressed and can answer any questions about that before your tour.
We will cancel tours if the temperature is below -25°F and issue you a full refund. No one wants to be out in that cold!
You will need your own vehicle to arrive here and it is recommended to have 4-wd or AWD. We live about 6 miles down a private road to our subdivision that is plowed regularly, but when there is snow accumulation, it is easy to get stuck in a front-wheel drive vehicle or sedan. Please seek out directions before your tour and give yourself an adequate amount of time to arrive. We live about 30-45 minutes outside of Fairbanks in the area of town called “Fox”. From our neighborhood you will often have the feel of experiencing the “bush” while having views of town just on the horizon.
